What is CAT Exam?
Common Admission Test (CAT) is an exam which started in the year 1950. In the year 2009 CAT exam become an computer based exam held in India. (Common Admission Test) CAT is the premier all India management entrance exam conducted by IIMs for seeking admission in most prestigious college in India. There are almost 20 IIMs in India and more than 100 B-schools across India. It is conducted by one of the IIMs in rotation based every year. In 2017 almost 2,04,267 students competed for 1550+ seats making it the most competitive exam in the country.It is conducted once in a year. It is basically, a knowledge or skills tested which access candidates on the basis of Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation (DI), Data Sufficiency, Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Analytical Reasoning.
CAT Exam Eligibility
- Candidates must be an Indian citizen.
- Candidates must hold 50% or more in Bachelor Degree's for both General and OBC and for SC, ST, Disabilities(PWD)/Differently Able (DA) classification) with no less than 45% or equal.
- There is no age criteria in CAT exam.
- The degree held by the candidate should be approved by any of the recognise university or educational institute.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of bachelor degree or equivalent exam and also those who have completed their degree and waiting for the result can also apply for the CAT exam. If the candidate gets selected will be allowed to join the programme after submitting the certificate.
CAT Exam Pattern
It will be conducted in three section. Candidates will be awarded by 3 marks for correct answer and -1 for the wrong answer and exactly 60 minute will be allocated for answering each section. CAT exam consists of 100 objective type question. According to new pattern a few may be non MCQ's type questions and there will be no negative marking for non MCG's type questions.Questions Subjects Marks

However, the selection of is based on two categories:
- Raw score which is your score.
- Percentile is based on highest percentage also know as 100 percentile on which scorer is compared to highest percentile or 100 percentile.
